The problem
Players opened Plarium Play to launch a game, then left. Their communities lived on Discord, outside the app.
What we did
Chat: brought players' Discord servers into Plarium Play, so they can chat with their community without leaving the app.
Connection flow: made linking a Discord account a one-step opt-in, with an in-game reward (a free RAID champion) as the incentive.
Next gen: designed “Playroom,” a new desktop app meant to replace Plarium Play, built around live streams, friends' activity and personalized recommendations.
Status
Both projects were paused in early 2022 when the war in Ukraine began, where a large part of Plarium's team was based.
